Brian Naas is a Brooklyn-based guitarist, composer, and pedagogue who has been musically active in New York for the last 3 years. He received his degree from San Francisco State University in 2004 where he studied guitar performance, composition, and electronic music. While in the Bay Area, he released a solo album of his electronic compositions titled "The Sky Within the Ground" on the Berkley label The Foundry, performed with various rock bands, and was an active guitar instructor for MusicArt Studio as well as various public schools and community centers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Inspired by his love of music, Mr. Naas moved to New York City in 2006. Since then, he has performed Steve Reich's “Electric Counterpoint” in Carnegie Hall with the Queens Guitar Society, formed the experimental insrumental post-rock band “Birthing of Millions” which has toured and released an album of his works, and has done audio production for film at No Fat Music.
Brian Naas joined the Brooklyn Music School faculty in 2009 and is proficient in teaching guitar performance in the style of rock, classical, and jazz, music theory and history, composition and improvisation, basic piano, and audio recording tecniques.
